Carson Middle School students sign pledge in honor of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

During their Wednesday lunch hour, students at Carson Middle School took a pledge to help others struggling with suicidal thoughts in honor of National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.

The pledge was to "Acknowledge, Care and Tell." Acknowledge the feelings of others, tell them you care, and tell an adult.

Nevada conservation department employees donate to Wild Animal Infirmary for Nevada

The employees at the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in Carson City have two fundraisers annually for area non-profits. This year, our staff raised $1,800, and one of the nonprofit recipients is the Wild Animal Infirmary for Nevada, also known as WAIF.

Carson City students at CMS to pledge for Suicide Prevention Awareness Wednesday

CARSON CITY — In connection with National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, students at Carson Middle School will wear teal or purple and be offered informational activities during lunch Wednesday, Sept. 26. They will also be able to print their names on ribbons posted to a large banner indicating their pledge to “Acknowledge, Care and Tell” if they know someone who is experiencing suicidal thoughts.

Think Pink: Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins with Oct. 1 kickoff at Red's Old 395

Carson City Fire Department is participating in the statewide annual State of Nevada 2018 Fire Prevention Week Poster Contest. In conjunction with the Nevada State Fire Marshal, Fire Departments statewide, and the Fire Prevention Association of Nevada, the Carson City Fire Department, Fire Prevention Division is preparing for the week-long campaign promoting fire safety education and awareness.
