To help with this, the Nevada Health Centers Mobile Dental Services program will visit Carson City this coming week by offering Mobile Dental Services to students and children, newborn to 21-years-old.</p> <p>The mobile office is fully staffed with dentists and assistants and will offer full dental services including exams, cleanings, X-rays, sealants, extractions, restorative services, fillings and oral health education.</p> <p>The dental services will be provided to children with or without dental insurance coverage. Private insurance, Medicaid and Nevada Check Up are accepted. Children without dental insurance will be supported through generous community grants.</p> <p>The mobile program will be at:</p> <p>Carson High School, Monday, Oct. 7, from 12-5 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.</p> <p>Empire Elementary School, Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 9 and 10 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 11, from 7 a.m. to 12 noon.</p> <p>To schedule an appointment or for more information, please call 800-787-2568. While there, Durham purchased four raffle tickets. Subsequently, he purchased five additional tickets for the 1884 Morgan silver dollar coin.</p> <p>As a collector of Morgan silver dollars, he is elated to add this one to his collection. When contacted about winning the coin, he stated that he “would like to thank the Carson City Museum for the preservation of such a historical site and the opportunity to win such a beautiful coin. Thank you so much.”</p> <p>Roundup Master of Ceremonies George Alm and former Nevada First Lady Dema Guinn opened the event welcoming attendees. In addition, they also conducted a raffle for an 187O Seated Liberty replica medallion. The medallion, minted on the Museum’s Coin Press #1, was won by Carson City resident Lisa Kordonowy. In addition, over 30 raffle baskets, gift certificates, and art works were won by attendees purchasing raffle tickets. </p> <p>The Roundup and related initiatives were outstanding successes raising more than $18,000 toward the restoration of the museum's iconic 1967 Chevrolet step-side pickup. This is a historic vehicle that once played a vital role in bringing Nevada's history stories to every rural corner of the state.</p> <p>Any funds beyond the restoration costs will enable the organization to continue supporting the Museum’s archival and educational mission serving the community and state. This year’s parade will be led by the Nevada Chapter of the National Pony Express Association, who will carry an authentic mochila along Ft. Churchill Street, honoring the historic Pony Express route.</p> <p>At the start of the parade, the riders will hand-deliver the mochila to our esteemed Grand Marshal, Lyon County Sheriff Brad Pope, who will then be escorted down the parade route by Rider’s proudly carrying the Nevada and American flags. On Saturday, Lyon County sheriff's deputies responded to the 200 Block of Gordon Lane in Dayton for a report of a missing person.</p> <p>During the investigation, deputies learned that Monica Stephenson was last seen Thursday, Oct. 3 at her residence in the 200 block of Gordon Lane in Dayton. Monica left the residence at approximately 2:30 p.m. Monica left in her 2003 white Chevrolet Blazer after being involved in a verbal altercation.</p> <p>Monica suffers from autism, schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder and may be without her medications.</p> <p>A ping of Monica’s phone indicated she may be in California. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is currently in contact with California agencies in an effort to locate her as well.</p> <p>If you see Monica, her vehicle, or have any information regarding her whereabouts, please contact the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office at 775-463-6620.</p> <p>She is 5 feet four inches, 316 pounds with short brown hair and hazel eyes. She wears eye glasses. Carson Street, inside the Carson Nugget.</p> <p>The music is free, donations are welcome. Gina's is a smoke-free, climate-controlled venue, and has a well-stocked bar.</p> <p>"Taking Chances” features the 17-member band playing swinging songs on the theme of the evening. Poets and readers are Rita Geil, Terri Breeden, Wayne Carlson, Krista Lukas, Melanie Perish, Timothy Rhodes, and the Reno Poet Laureate, Jesse James Ziegler.. Each poem expresses an aspect of the theme and is followed by a tune that relates to the poem. Several tunes feature Jakki Ford.</p> <p>Pianist and bandleader David Bugli said, "We'd like to tell you the tunes we will be playing, but that would spoil the fun for the audience to make connections between the poems and the tunes that follow them. The project will also rehabilitate up to seven miles of Carson City’s existing multi-use path network.</p> <p>According to the agenda, staff were not able to secure an easement with the State of Nevada for the planned construction of a new multi-use path south of the DMV facility. Because of this, a portion of the work has been removed. </p> <p>The project’s design is complete, and NDOT has approved it for construction, which is anticipated to begin in the Spring. </p> <p>— Commissioners will discuss the ratification of a 2024 Federal Lands Access Program (FLAP) grant application for $7.36 million that, if approved, will be used to compete the Ash Canyon Road and Trailhead Project, including a $410,00 in local match. </p> <p>— The purchase of two transit vehicles from Model 1 Commercial Vehicles, Inc. will be discussed in the amount of $208,820 for each vehicle for a total not to exceed $417,640. Andy was a life-long resident, farmer, and dairyman in the Carson Valley of northern Nevada and demonstrated an ongoing dedication to improving his community, as well as the Carson River Watershed. Andy died in February of 2020.</p> <p>The Carson River runs approximately 184 miles beginning in Alpine County, California, and continuing through Douglas County, Carson City, Lyon County, and Churchill County, Nevada. Its watershed encompasses approximately 3,966 square miles. </p> <p>The Carson River Watershed Vision is to achieve healthy sustainable watersheds within the entire Carson River Basin; to achieve improved watershed conditions, so all lands and waterways (surface and underground) safely receive, store, and release clean water for the good of all peoples, environments, and natural resources of the Carson River Basin; to achieve this vision through community-led and private/public partnerships for the implementation of local and basin-wide plans and projects.</p> <p>This award recognizes individuals and/or organizations for significant contributions in promoting and achieving the Carson River Watershed Vision.</p> <p>Please submit a 1-page narrative outlining how the nominee meets the award criteria outlined below to Catrina Schambra at <a href="mailto:catrina@cwsd.org">catrina@cwsd.org</a> by Monday, October 28, 2024. </p> <p><strong>Award Criteria</strong></p> <p>To be considered for this award, nominees must:</p> <p>1.
