State offices close early in Carson City, Douglas and Washoe counties due to weather
CARSON CITY — The Nevada Department of Transportation and the Nevada State Police are reporting wet roads and rapidly dropping temperatures that could result in potentially dangerous road conditions in the Carson City, Washoe County, and Douglas County areas.
As such, Governor Sisolak has ordered an early closing for all state government offices (other than essential public safety and corrections personnel) in these areas for this afternoon. State government offices in these areas will close effective immediately, Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021. See weather forecast here.
The governor, along with NDOT and State police, will continue to monitor the weather and road conditions and the Governor urges all state employees to drive carefully on their way home. The safety and well-being of the state’s employees are of the utmost concern.
