Carson City sheriff's deputies make arrests for alleged home invasion, burglary offenses
A 33-year-old Carson City man was booked Sunday for suspicion of felony home invasion and three misdemeanor offenses including domestic battery.
Jeromy Doran was taken into custody at 12:10 p.m. According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched to a Burton Street address for a report of a man kicking in the front door to an apartment.
A deputy arrived and observed the man, later identified as Doran, attempting to flee. He was detained by deputies.
As a deputy walked up to the residence they observed the front door was damaged, consistent with being kicked in. The wooden door jamb of the residence was broken in several pieces and pieces of the wood door were on the floor inside the residence.
Once inside, a deputy made contact with the victim, who was bleeding from the nose and mouth area and had a swollen eye. She stated she was taking a shower when she heard someone kick in the front door. She stated she heard her ex-boyfriend, Doran yelling. She said he kicked open the front door and then punched her in the face.
She stated she did not remember exactly how many times Doran punched her. He then left the residence when he heard police arriving. She stated the man doesn't live at the residence and had moved all of his belongings out a few day ago.
Deputies spoke with Doran and read him is Miranda rights where he agreed to speak. He stated he got upset because the woman locked him out and would not let him inside the residence. He stated he was kicked out of the residence a few days prior. He also stated she kicked in the front door, the report states.
Dispatch advised the man had two confirmed warrants for his arrest. He was booked for suspicion of felony home invasion, misdemeanor domestic battery and the two warrants.
Bail: $25,000 for the alleged home invasion offense and $6,000 cash bond for the two misdemeanor contempt of court offenses.
In other arrests:
— A 43-year-old Carson City man, Christian Omar Rivera, was arrested Dec. 24 for suspicion of felony burglary and violation of a protection order.
According to the booking report, he broke into the home of his estranged wife. He was also in violation of a protection order. Bail: $20,000.
— A 33-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Dec. 24 for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery.
According to the booking report the woman allegedly hit her husband in the face multiple times. The husband had redness around the left side of his face and left ear, consistent with being struck in the face, the report states.
The woman appeared intoxicated and admitted to drinking a significant amount of alcohol. She was asked multiple times to explain what happened. She did not say what happened. She was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. At jail she refused to follow directions and refused to provide a preliminary breath sample for the booking process. Bail: $3,137.
— A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued out of Carson City. Bail: $1,632.
— A 64-year-old man was arrested for suspicion of disorderly conduct and trespassing. According to the booking report, dispatch was called to a convenience store in the 1100 block of Carson Street in reference to a man eating items off the shelf and not paying for them. He would not leave when asked by employees.
Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the store employees, who said they didn't want to press charges and that they only wanted the man trespassed and, if he returned, to be arrested.
Deputies met with the man and advised him he had to leave the store and not return. A few minutes later he returned to the same store. When deputies arrived, he walked to a stack of washer fluid, picked one of the gallon bottles and smashed it on the ground near the direction of the deputies. The man was arrested. Bail: $484.
— A 53-year-old man was arrested Dec. 23 for a misdemeanor warrant alleging obtaining money by false pretenses, less than $1,200. Bail: $500.
— A 34-year-old Reno man was arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI. During a traffic stop at a south Carson Street gas station and subsequent investigation, the man provided a partial breath sample with a .309 result. He was arrested and taken to the hospital, where he consented to a blood draw. Bail: $1,137.
