A father and his two teen daughters, who left the Yomba Reservation near Gabbs on Christmas Eve bound for the Yerington, are missing.
Russell Snooks, 44, Mia Snooks, 17, and Madysen Snooks, 13 were driving in a gold 1993 Chevrolet 3/4 -ton pickup. Family members said at some point they must have decided to make part of the trip off-road. A Christmas morning phone call to a friend telling of the truck breaking down is the last anyone has heard from the group.
Mineral County Search and Rescue (775) 945-0519 and the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office (775) 625-6713 have been searching for the trio.
All are members of the Yerington Paiute Tribe but are living on the Yomba Shoshone Reservation.
“It’s almost dark again and my son and my grandchildren have been lost for three days now,” said Vonnie Snooks of Yerington. “We want to know why they didn’t ask for helicopters from the Navy for help in the search.”
