Carson City arrests: Man runs from deputies, found with multiple baggies of drugs
A 24-year-old man was arrested Dec. 17 for alleged drug possession offenses as well as a felony warrant and running from deputies following a traffic stop, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Michael Lawrence Segna of Reno was arrested following an investigation after a traffic stop. He was booked for the following alleged offenses: Parole and Probation priority 5 violation, a warrant for failure to obey a court order, possession of a controlled substance, gross misdemeanor obstructing an officer, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the booking report, at 11:16 p.m. a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle without headlights on. When the officer exited his patrol vehicle, a male passenger exited the vehicle. The deputy gave verbal commands to the male passenger to return to the vehicle and shut the door.
The deputy made contact with the driver, Segna, who was unable to provide a driver's license, proof of insurance and proof of registration, the report states. The deputy instructed both men to exit the vehicle. Segna took off running. Two deputies chased him, with the suspect tasered and taken into custody.
While searching him deputies found the following on his person: three clear bags with crystal methamphetamine, two bags of pink crystal methamphetamine, two points of heroin in a clear baggie, a clear baggie with cocaine and a clear baggie with illegal mushrooms, the report states.
He was held without bail in lieu of a hearing for the felony warrant and felony parole and probation violation.
