Carson City, Minden Shoe Tree Brewing hosts holiday Shoe Drive for kids and seniors in need
For many, a new pair of shoes is the best Christmas gift imaginable, and you can help make that dream come true.
Shoe Tree Brewing Co. in both their Carson City and Minden locations is hosting a shoe drive for children, teens and seniors in need.
“We’re working with three different agencies for the drive: the Carson City School District’s homeless and foster program, the Carson City Juvenile Detention Center, and a program to help seniors who don’t have families during the holidays,” said co-owner Paul Young.
The task is simple: head into one of the locations, select a “shoe” from the shoe tree that specifies the brand and size desired, take it to the bartender to check out, then go and shop for the shoe and bring it back to Shoe Tree by Dec. 22.
“We’ve always seen it as, if we’re going to be in the community and doing business in our community, then it’s our duty to give back and look out for others in the community,” Young said. “That’s what we’ve always wanted to do.”
The Carson City Shoe Tree location is 1496 Old Hot Springs Rd.
The Minden location is 1758 U.S. Highway 395 N., Suite A.
