Carson City art gallery in running for national independent business award
The national business movement Independent We Stand this week announced Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery in Carson City among the quarter finalists for the 2014 Independent We Stand Small Business of the Year Award.
The announcement precedes Small Business Saturday, today, Nov. 29. Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery is locally owned and operated by Jeffery Pace. Located at 220 A West Telegraph Street in downtown Carson City, It represents more than 65 Northern Nevada artists with works ranging from oils, acrylics, jewelry, textiles, reclaimed materials and much more. Everything is one-of-a-kind, no giclées, prints or mass-productions.
Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery regularly gives back to the community year-round through various events and fund-raising for local non-profit organizations. Since the gallery opened in June 2011, more than $21,000 has been donated or raised through the gallery. Some of the local causes supported include the Carson City Symphony Association, Wendy Robards Universal Dream Park, Douglas Animal Welfare Group and Advocates to End Domestic Violence.
“I’m passionate about art and my community and am grateful to be able to live the dream by doing and sharing what I love most,” said Pace.
Voting is underway at www.IndieBizAward.com now through Dec. 14. Voters may visit the website to cast one vote each day. The Indie winner will receive prizes with a combined value of more than $10,000.
“Independently owned businesses re-invest in their local economies at a much higher rate than big-box stores,” says Bill Brunelle, founder of Independent We Stand. “This year’s quarter-finalists are a great representation of independent businesses across the country, and this award is our way of recognizing these businesses for their outstanding efforts within the communities they serve.”
