Carson City arrests: Woman jailed for suspected DUI admits to speeding, flirting with motorist
A 24-year-old South Lake Tahoe woman was arrested Tuesday in the 1400 block of South Carson Street for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI, a Carson City sheriff's arrest report states.
According to the report, a witness observed the driver was speeding up to 80 mph in a posted 45 mph and nearly hit several cars while changing lanes back and forth.
An officer located the vehicle, which turned into a parking lot and made contact with the driver. The officer noticed an odor of alcohol on her breath and marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
The woman stated she consumed a couple glasses of wine at Lake Tahoe and had smoked a marijuana cigarette as she was driving down to Carson City. She told the officer she was traveling approximately 60 to 65 mph, and that she was flirting with a male driver of another vehicle and was speeding, the arrest report states.
The woman agreed to participate in standardized field sobriety tests and shows signs of impairment. She provided a preliminary breath test with a sample of .085. She was arrested at 5:49 p.m. for suspicion DUI. She agreed to a evidentiary blood draw. Bail: $1,137.
In other arrests:
— A 51-year-old man, William Michael Polinsky, was arrested Tuesday at the Carson City Sheriff's Office, for suspicion of being an ex-felon failing to register. According to the arrest report, a deputy responded to the front counter of the sheriff's office for a report of person at records trying to update registration.
The deputy was advised the man is required to register every six months. The report from the records office stated the man had not registered or updated his information since April 1, 2018. Per the sex offender registry information, it stated "failure to verify" on his last known address and his status was listed as "delinquent." He was taken into custody. Bail: $5,000.
— 22-year-old Carson City woman turned herself into jail Wednesday, 6:19 a.m. for a misdemeanor warrant alleging battery. The warrant was issued Nov. 8, 2019 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.
— A 25-year-old Carson City man who was allegedly speeding in a school zone, was arrested Tuesday for a misdemeanor warrant alleging destruction of property. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle that was going 28 mph in a 15 mph active school zone in which the lights were flashing.
Deputies did a routine check and learned the man had a confirmed warrant. Bail listed: $575.
— A 53-year-old Carson City man was booked into Carson City Jail on Wednesday for a misdemeanor warrant alleging domestic battery. Bail: $3,000.
— A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 2:49 p.m. in the area of South Carson and Old Clear Creek Road for misdemeanor driving with a revoked license for DUI and driving with expired registration. Bail: $749.
— A 35-year-old Castro Valley, Calif., woman was booked Wednesday into Carson City jail for a misdemeanor warrant alleging violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $3,000.
— A 52-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Wednesday for a misdemeanor warrant alleging violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $3,000.
— A 22-year-old Carson City man was booked for a misdemeanor failure to appear traffic warrant. Bail: $410.
