Capital Crossfire: The ABCs of Autism
Capital Crossfire with Shelly Aldean and Karl Neathammer welcomes Dr. Patrick Ghezzi. They subject is The ABCs of autism. Dr. Ghezzi’s past and present research and scholarship is diverse, ranging from laboratory, quasi-laboratory and naturalistic studies in operant and respondent conditioning to improving services and learning outcomes for young children with developmental disabilities.
Pat earned his BA in Psychology in 1974 and his MS in Experimental Psychology in 1978 (with Larry Miller) at Western Washington University. He received his doctorate in the Experimental Analysis of Behavior in 1985 at Utah State University (with Carl Cheney).
Pat served on the research faculty in the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation at The University of Arizona prior to coming to the University of Nevada in 1992, and in 1995 he co-founded (with Sid Bijou) the University of Nevada’s Early Childhood Autism Program. He became the Director of the Behavior Analysis Program at the University of Nevada in 2002, and has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) since 2004.
Pat’s entrepreneurship includes directing the Early Childhood Autism Program and serving as the Senior Consultant for the Center for Advanced Learning (CAL), the City of Reno Parks, Recreation and Community Services, Washoe County School District, and Washoe County Social Services.
Capital Crossfire airs on Access Carson City Television (Charter Cable Channel 226) on Tuesdays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m. and Sundays at 7:30 p.m.

The program explores current issues and the facts behind those issues in a lively, non-contentious discussion with hosts Aldean and Neathammer.
