Carson City health agency to halt COVID-19 testing, vaccinations to remain Quad County focus

With a significant drop in testing demand and an increase in providing vaccination, Carson City Health and Human Services announced Tuesday that it is halting community-based COVID-19 testing events and on-site testing at CCHHS.

The decision to cease COVID-19 testing was based on a drastic decrease in testing demand and the increased focus on COVID-19 vaccinations due to demand, according to a CCHHS news release. Wednesday, Nov. 17 will be the last community-based COVID-19 testing event and Nov. 29 will be the final day of testing at CCHHS.

Carson City Health and Human Services will continue monitoring the metrics in the community, as well as the interest in COVID testing expressed through calls coming into the Quad-County COVID-19 Hotline, according to the release. CCHHS will be ready to resume COVID-19 testing if needed.
