Carson City Sheriff's Office recognizes more than 100 volunteers at annual dinner
The Carson City Sheriff's Office honored more than 100 volunteers from its multiple divisions on Saturday night during an appreciation dinner held at the Nevada Governor's Mansion annex.
The community volunteer program at the Carson City Sheriff's Office contributes tens of thousands of hours annually to the quality of life of the community.

Volunteer programs at the Sheriff's Office include Search and Rescue, Reserve Deputy Sheriff's and Mounted Unit Deputies, chaplains, some vet transportation, VIPS Patrol, clerical, front desk, jail visitation, the Explorer Unit, Aero Squadron, RSVP volunteers and more.
The services provided by volunteers include clerical functions, scheduling and reception, traffic control, vehicle inspections, counseling, traffic and crowd control, detention and patrol support, added security to community events, searches for lost, stranded persons, home house watch, informal traffic management, abandoned vehicle removal, false alarm reductions, surveys and emergency and disaster response, just to name a few.
