The National Automobile Museum adds horsepower with a new muscle car exhibit
RENO — More horsepower will soon be on display at the National Automobile Museum with the opening of its new exhibit Era of the Muscle Car: 1964-1972.
The National Automobile Museum is revving up for the holidays with a ribbon-cutting to open its newest exhibit on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 11 a.m. The Museum has worked closely with local car collectors to create this exciting new display which features nine examples of American muscle cars.
Classically, if it was an American-made automobile with rear-wheel-drive, two-doors and a large and powerful V8 engine manufactured from the 1960s to the early ‘70s; it’s a “Muscle Car.” They generally came with special badging, flared fenders, wide tires, and (often) a hood scoop.
“We’re excited to share this fantastic new exhibit. If you’ve never been to NAM, it’s a great time to visit with the family. It’s not just a Museum; it’s an immersive experience with streets, storefronts, artifacts, and sounds,” said Phil MacDougall, NAM’s executive director. “There’s something for everyone to enjoy.”
