Carson City arrests: Man asked to leave store drops case with baggie of heroin, needles
A 57-year-old man was arrested Monday for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
David Allen Wensloff was taken into custody at 3:34 p.m. According to the arrest report, a reporting party advised the male subject entered a store and was asked to leave. As he was leaving a small black case fell out of his backpack an onto the ground, where several hypodermic needles fell out of the case.
A deputy arrived on scene and observed six uncapped hypodermic needles inside a case and four small plastic baggies. The deputy recognized a substance in one of the baggies as suspected heroin. Also located was a spoon with black sticky tar-like residue as well as a pipe in the shape of a stick with a broken end, the report states.
A deputy was shown video footage of the suspect in the store. Later the deputy was dispatched to an unrelated call for an intoxicated subject in the 600 block of North Curry. The officer identified the subject from the video earlier and arrested him for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,637.
— A Carson City woman was arrested Saturday for suspicion of DUI and gross misdemeanor child endangerment after allegedly colliding her vehicle into another vehicle as she was attempting to leave a garage.
According to the booking report, the incident happened following a dispute with family members and a boyfriend.
The woman admitted she was intoxicated and showed signs of impairment during the standardized field sobriety tests. She provided a preliminary breath test of .303 and was arrested. She was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation due to the high alcohol content. At jail she provided two evidentiary blood samples. Bail: $3,637.
— A 32-year-old Carson City man, Edward Allen Davenport, was booked for a felony probation violation warrant issued Oct. 12 out of Carson City District Court. No bail hold in lieu of hearing.
— A traffic stop for suspended registration led to the arrest of a man for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies arrested Justin Riley at 12:08 a.m. following a vehicle stop with the vehicle occupied by three people. According to the arrest report, a K9 sniff of the vehicle was done and nothing illegal was found, the arrest report states. Riley agreed to a search where the deputy located a meth pipe with methamphetamine on his person, according to the booking report. Bail: $3,637.
