Carson City deputies arrest mother for child endangerment after hit and run, DUI with child in the car
A 22-year-old Mound House woman was arrested in the area of Fairview and Lepire for DUI, Child Endangerment, and Hit and Run after driving her vehicle into a wall while allegedly intoxicated.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of S. Carson Meadows in reference to a vehicle that had crashed into the building. While enroute to the scene. deputies were advised the vehicle was leaving the scene headed eastbound on 5th Street.
Deputies located the vehicle and watched it turn northbound on Fairview, at which point they witnessed it failing to maintain its lane and almost leave the roadway several times, according to the report.
Deputies stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified later as the 22-year-old, whose 2-year-old baby was sitting in a “loosely installed” forward facing car seat in the front passenger seat, according to the report.
When deputies spoke with the woman they stated they could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from inside the vehicle.
The woman admitted that she went to an apartment complex and found her boyfriend there with another girl. She said she got angry and left the apartment complex, at which point she hit a wall at the complex but left the area as several subjects were pounding on her vehicle, and she said she was scared for her baby’s safety.
The woman submitted to a preliminary breath test which resulted in a .179 BAC.
The woman was taken into custody and booked on child endangerment, DUI, and hit and run.
