Dayton man identified in fatal Carson City crash Saturday on Highway 50 and Deer Run
The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a Dayton man as the victim in Saturday's fatal crash involving three vehicles on Highway 50 and Deer Run Road in Carson City.
Justin King, 47, died at the scene of Saturday's crash, according to NHP. A preliminary investigation shows a white 1995 Ford Crown Victoria was traveling westbound on US-50 approaching Deer Run Road.
A black 1991 Ford Ranger, driven by Justin King, and a silver 2008 Toyota Prius were both traveling eastbound on US-50 approaching Deer Run Road, according to NHP.
The Ford Crown Victoria crossed into the eastbound travel lanes (wrong way) and struck the Ford Ranger head-on. The Ford Ranger came to rest on its right wheels with its left wheels partially off the ground over the eastbound travel lane’s intersection stop line, according to NHP.
The Toyota Prius collided with the Ford Ranger, forcing the Ford Ranger to roll onto its right side. King was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash was reported at 3:42 p.m.
The Nevada Highway Patrol is seeking additional witnesses to this crash.
