Carson City area road report for week of Oct. 29 to Nov. 5
Here is the Carson City area road report for the week of Oct. 29 through Nov. 5, 2023. Closures are expected at the following locations due to road/utility work:
There will be brief closures on I-580 between northern Carson City and Washoe Valley Sunday morning, Oct. 29 from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Both directions of I-580 will periodically be closed for up to 20 minutes between Arrowhead Drive in northern Carson City and Eastlake Boulevard exit 10 in Washoe Valley. A series of 20-minute closures will take place, with traffic temporarily held on the interstate for 20 minutes before being released.
A helicopter will be used to install wire shielding and additional marker balls on existing transmission lines which cross over the interstate and supply power to approximately 11,000 customers at Lake Tahoe.
In other closures:
Eagle Station Lane between Carson Street and Silver Sage Drive will be closed from the Work Zone to Silver Sage Drive, on Thursday, from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.
Koontz Lane between Carson Street and Silver Sage Drive will be closed to eastbound traffic on Tuesday and Wednesday, from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. The street will remain open to westbound traffic.
Silver Sage Drive between Clearview Drive and Koontz Lane will be closed to northbound traffic on Tuesday and Wednesday, from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. The street will remain open to southbound traffic.
Telegraph Street will be closed between Stewart Street to Anderson Street, Monday and Tuesday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and work will be concluded by October 31, 2023.
Lane restrictions are expected at the following locations due to road/utility work:
Colorado Street between Carson Street and Saliman Road will periodically have reduced and narrowed lanes and lane shifts, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm for roadway reconstruction.
Trucks will be entering and exiting the road at Edmonds Drive, Colorado Street, Koontz Drive, Clearview Lane, and Livermore Lane all week for construction of the new multi-use path. Please use caution in these areas. Edmonds Drive and Clearview Lane will have flagger control, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Construction will continue for the next few months.
