Carson City deputies make arrests for alleged indecent exposure, theft at store
A 43-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of indecent or obscene exposure, a gross misdemeanor offense, a Carson City sheriff's office booking report states.
According to the arrest report, at around noon a CCSO deputy was flagged down by a citizen at the intersection of North Carson and Telegraph streets. The citizen stated he was driving south on North Carson when he observed a male on the side of the road standing near a trash can with his green pants down around his ankles. The witness said the man was not wearing any under garments and they could see his bare buttocks.
The witness told the officer that he pulled his vehicle to the side of the road, exited and yelled at the man to pull his pants up. The witness stated he then flagged down the deputy.
The witness provided a written statement of what he observed. The suspect, listed as being from Carson City, was placed under arrest. Bail: $2,500.
In other arrests:
— A 25-year-old Reno man was arrested Tuesday, 10:27 p.m. at Walmart for suspicion of misdemeanor petit larceny and a warrant out of East Fork Township Court.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the store regarding a suspect detained for shoplifting. Officers met with an asset protection officer and the suspect, who allegedly stole the items.
Store security stated they knew the man from a prior incident in which they believe he stole items. The security officer stated they saw the man with a shopping cart grab a high-priced tooth brush, valued at $199.97, and two shirts, each priced at $8.96, then grabbed a heater and emptied the box of the heater and placed the shirts and tooth brush inside.
The suspect proceeded to the checkout and paid for the heater but did not pay for the items inside the box, the arrest report states. The man passed all points of sale and attempted to exit before being stopped. Security stated the suspect complied. Security stated once in the office they recovered all stolen items. Inside the box they discovered two pairs of sunglasses each valued at $10.88, making the total amount listed of items stolen at $273.94, the report states.
The arresting officer checked the suspect for wants and warrants. He came back with a warrant issued out of East Fork township with a $1,000 cash only bail.
The officer transported him to detention and read him his Miranda warning in which he agreed to speak. The man stated his life is a wreck and was trying to steal the tooth brush, sunglasses and shirts. He stated he put the items inside the box to sneak them through. The man stated he didn't pay for the toothbrush because it was expensive. When the officer searched the man, he had $26 inside his wallet. Bail: $1,352.
— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for a misdemeanor warrant issued out of Carson City justice Court. Bail: $500.
