Carson City emergency crews called to head-on crash at Highway 50 and Fairview
UPDATE: Care Flight flew two patients to the trauma ward of Renown Medical Center in Reno after a three-vehicle crash late Tuesday night near the intersection of Highway 50 East and Fairview in Carson City. One other patient was taken by ground ambulance to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Eastbound and westbound traffic along Highway 50 was opened at around midnight.

UPDATE: Carson City Fire Department, sheriff’s deputies and Nevada Highway Patrol were called tonight to a multi-vehicle head-on crash with injuries on Highway 50 at Fairview. Two Care Flight medical helicopters have been ordered. The crash was reported at 11 p.m.
Incoming reports via dispatch is there are three vehicles involved. Two people were trapped at one point but firefighters were able to remove them. Two will be flown by Care Flight and one person will be taken by ground ambulance, according to firefighters on the scene.
Both travel lanes are blocked. In the westbound lane, traffic is being halted at Highway 50 and Brown and eastbound in the 3400 block of Highway 50 East. Motorists should stay out of the area to allow for emergency vehicles. Care Flight will land near the crash scene.
The makes and models of the vehicles involved are unknown at this time. The accident will be investigated by Nevada Highway Patrol. We will provide updates as they become available.
