Traffic accident reported in Northbound lanes of I-580 near Highway 50 exit

Just before 11:30 p.m. a traffic accident was reported on I-580.

Two vehicles were involved in the northbound lanes near the highway 50 exit.

Deputies are enroute to the scene.

Motorists should seek alternate routes or use caution while in the area.

Carson City emergency crews responded Wednesday morning to a two-vehicle traffic accident near the intersection of South Edmonds and Lompa Lane.

Carson City Fire Department was called late Tuesday night to the Nevada Legislative Building for a report of a small fire inside the building.

UPDATE 9:30PM: A fire that started in the kitchen area of a Rawhide Way residence and spread into the attic was quickly knocked down Tuesday night, said Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Tom Raw.
It started as a cooking fire and went into the exhaust system, extending into the attic, he said. It was knocked down within 15 minutes upon arrival.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in attempting to locate a runaway juvenile. Engel Mulhauser, aka Harley, 16, was last seen Sunday, June 11 at her residence in Carson City.

The employees at the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in Carson City have two fundraisers annually for area non-profits. One of the recipients this year is the Wild Animal Infirmary for Nevada, also known as WAIF.
