Fall Open Burn beginning Saturday in Carson City
2021 Fall Open Burn will begin October 23, 2021. Carson City Fire Department will be lifting the fire restrictions that were imposed June 30, 2021 on privately owned lands within Carson City.
Permits will be available starting Friday, October 22, 2021, with burning allowed from October 23, 2021 through to November 21, 2021, dependent upon permit status and daily weather conditions.
The purpose of the open burn period is to provide residents an opportunity to dispose of accumulated weeds and yard debris. In order to make this a safe endeavor for those involved, the Carson City Fire Department will require a burn permit.
Permits can be obtained online at our website at www.carson.org/openburn. Click on the notice for “Open Burn” and it will take you to a form that you will need to print and have on your person when burning. Permits will no longer be available in our administrative office on a walk-in basis.
For additional questions or concerns, please call the Carson City Fire Department’s Fire Prevention Division at 887-2210, ext. 7145, 8-5 p.m., M-F.
