Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Man booked for domestic battery against minor
A 42 year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday morning at 6:48 a.m. in the 900 block of E. Telegraph Street on charges of misdemeanor first-offense domestic battery and violation of bail conditions, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.
According to the arrest report, Sheriff's deputies responded to the area on a battery complaint.
The victim, a minor, reported to law enforcement that the suspect had barged into his bedroom to wake him up for school.
The suspect reportedly threw items around in the victim's room before yanking on his arm to wake him up, the report said.
The suspect then left the bedroom for the kitchen, and the victim emerged a short time later to retrieve clothing from the dryer.
The suspect then reportedly began yelling at the victim, giving him a light shove and causing him to hit the clothes dryer.
The suspect then reportedly grabbed a pack of five soda cans and threw it at the victim, hitting him in the leg. No visible injuries were observed on the victim.
Deputies then interviewed the suspect, who acknowledged the victim's report of throwing soda cans at him, the report said, but refused further comment on questioning.
"There is some truth to that," the suspect told deputies.
A records check of the suspect showed he was on active probation with the Carson City Department of Alternative Sentencing (DAS) with a no-alcohol clause.
During the suspect interview, deputies detected an alcoholic odor coming from him. He also displayed red, watery eyes and slurred speech.
The suspect consented to a preliminary breath test (PBT) that yielded breath-alcohol content (BAC) of .190 percent.
DAS was notified and his arrest was requested. The suspect was handcuffed and taken into custody at that point.
He was transported to the Carson City Jail without further incident and booked. Bail: $6,137.
