Western Nevada College Childcare Facility closes two classrooms due to COVID-19 outbreak
Two classrooms within the Western Nevada College's childcare facility at their Carson City location are closed for an undisclosed amount of time due to an outbreak of COVID-19.
"The Western Nevada College Child Development Center is currently open and serving families’ child care needs in the community," WNC said in a statement. "However, the college’s CDC has temporarily restricted the use of two classrooms. The CDC is following state-mandated cleaning guidelines to protect the health and safety of its children and the families that it serves."
WNC did not disclose how many students or staff members were infected, or how long the classrooms would remain closed.
"The CDC follows all hand-washing and cleaning procedures as recommended by State Licensing, state health and county health agencies," the statement continued. "The CDC also completes health screening prior to anyone entering its facility and the facility receives additional professional cleaning after hours."
