NHP receives $100K grant to participate in DUI saturation patrol program
The Nevada Highway Patrol has received a grant in the amount of $100,000 from the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety, to support law enforcement’s participation in the Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Saturation Traffic Safety Program during the coming year.
The DUI Saturation Program is a high visibility, statewide effort to increase safety on Nevada’s roads by increasing enforcement and awareness of impaired driving traffic laws. The goal is to reduce crashes and save lives by focusing on impaired driving.
Thanks to this grant award, the Nevada Highway Patrol will be able to add extra patrols to focus on and remove impaired drivers from Nevada highways. The campaign will run from Oct. 1, 2021, through Sept. 30, 2022.
Law enforcement personnel will continue to enforce traffic safety laws year-round as part of their commitment to reduce crashes and save lives. Whether you are a driver, a passenger, or a pedestrian, the Nevada Highway Patrol reminds everyone to make safety on our roadways a top priority.
