Lyon County sheriff's deputies arrest jail escapee and another man wanted for warrants
A recently escaped inmate and fugitive were arrested Wednesday in a Fernley apartment complex, according to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office. Two nearby schools were placed in a brief lockdown during the incident.
Cory Tyler was booked into Lyon County Jail for alleged escape, possession of a dangerous weapon and probation violation.
Also arrested was Bradlee Morris for a felony out of county warrant, two counts failure to appear, one for grand larceny and the other for resisting arrest and possession of more than 1 ounce of marijuana.
According to the booking report, through surveillance, detectives confirmed that not only was the wanted subject Tyler in the area of 175 Hardie Lane in Fernley, but Morris, who was a wanted fugitive from justice was in the area as well.
Law enforcement arrested Tyler and Morris without incident. Both were being held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
On Sept. 29, Lyon County Sheriff's Office deputies went to the 200 block of Granada Street in Fernley where they located and arrested 30 year old Cory Tyler on a Nevada Parole and Probation warrant.
Tyler was taken to the Fernley Substation for temporary housing, prior to being booked into the Lyon County Jail. While at the substation, Tyler's handcuffs were removed and he was placed in a holding cell.
The transporting deputy failed to properly secure the cell and Tyler fled when the deputy left the area.
