Carson City Fire Department responds to brush fire near Goni water tank
UPDATE: The fire was knocked down at 11:24 a.m. and forward progress stopped at 11:27 a.m. Firefighters on scene are in mop-up phase. The cause is under investigation.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies responded Monday to a report of a brush fire and vehicle fire near the area of the Goni water tank.
Multiple callers to Carson City Dispatch came in at around 11:12 a.m. regarding a brush fire in the area and a vehicle on fire. There are multiple reports of a large plume of black smoke near the water tank.
The fire is reportedly 1-1/4 a mile east of the Cinderlite pits. First responders on scene report a fully involved vehicle fire in a heavy brush area.
