Carson City arrests: Burglary call leads to discovery of 14 grams of meth, stolen bike
A 27-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 29 for suspicion of drug possession, possession of burglary tools and stolen property, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Justice Rayann Wilmoth of Sparks was taken into custody following an investigation. According to the booking report, deputies responded at 6:11 p.m. to a call for an alleged burglary in progress in the 5100 block of Arrowhead Drive.
The reporting party advised dispatch that they could see a female with a black sweatshirt and dark-colored pants pounding and kicking the front gate of their business, the report states. Officers arrived and located the female matching the description in front of the property and had her take a seat on the curb. The woman advised she was trying to access her vehicle that was locked inside the parking lot.
A deputy asked if the woman had any form of identification. She stated her passport was located inside her purse. A deputy asked if she could go inside the purse to retrieve it. Inside the purse the deputy located a blue sunglass case that contained 14 grams of methamphetamine and a meth pipe, the report states. The woman was placed into custody.
Deputies searched the woman and located burglary tools in her pockets. A wire cutter and flathead screw driver were located on her person. Deputies conducted an inventory of the vehicle that the woman had drove to the scene. Inside was a green mountain style bike that was wedged into the rear passenger area of the vehicle.
A deputy ran a check on the serial number through dispatch, which advised the bike was reported stolen out of Kansas on March 29, 2021. Also located were various cards including food stamps and insurance cards. These items were linked to a previous vehicle burglary, the report states.
The woman was taken to jail and booked for the following: suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, gross misdemeanor possession of burglary tools, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts misdemeanor possession of stolen property. Bail: $7,411.

— A 28-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and failure to yield. According to the booking report, deputies responded to a non-injury crash on Fairview and Gordon Street at around 12:44 a.m.
The driver at fault explained she drove to prevent her intoxicated boyfriend from driving himself. The report states, the woman was driving westbound on Gordon Street where she failed to yield to oncoming traffic on Fairview causing an accident, the report states.
During the accident investigation, the woman admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the evening. Deputies initiated field sobriety tests and where she showed signs of impairment.
Some tests she was unable to complete due to her inability to maintain balance. She provided a preliminary breath test of .343 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Due to her high PBT sample she was taken to the hospital. She consented to provide a blood sample. Bail: $1,209.
