Firefighters to be added at Nevada Firefighters’ Memorial in Carson City
A plaque bearing the name of Clark County Firefighter John Foster will be added to the list of other Silver State firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty during During the Nevada Firefighters’ Memorial on Saturday, Oct. 13 in Carson City.
At this year’s ceremony, which begins at 10 a.m. at the Nevada Firefighters' Memorial in Mills Park, one firefighter will also be added to the Distinguished Service wall of the Nevada Firefighters’ Memorial. The firefighter to be recognized for Distinguished Service is Michael Heidemann.
The community is encouraged to attend and honor the memory of Firefighter John Foster and to reassure his loved ones that he will not be forgotten. The formal ceremony will be held in Carson City at the Nevada Firefighters’ Memorial in Mills Park.
The ceremony will conclude the weeklong observance of National Fire Prevention Week in Nevada. Honor Guard members will lead a combined fire service/honor guard during the ceremony and will conduct the memorial bell ceremony.
