Nevada Health Centers’ Mammovan offering mammography screenings Thursday in Dayton
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Early detection is key in the fight against breast cancer, so access to screenings is critically important.
To accommodate women who are due for a mammography screening, Nevada Health Centers' continually criss-crosses the state and makes community stops. The Mammovan will be visiting northern Nevada beginning this week at the following locations:
— Tuesday, Oct. 4, 7:40 a.m. to 3:20 p.m., Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Tribal Health Clinic, 1715 Kuenzli St.; Reno
— Wednesday, Oct. 5, 12 to 5:20 p.m., O’Brien Middle School, 10500 Stead Blvd.; Reno
— Thursday, Oct. 6, 7:40 a.m. to 3:20 p.m., Mark Twain Community Center, 500 Sam Clemens Ave., Dayton
— Monday, Oct. 24, 7:40 a.m. to 3:20 p.m., Moana Nursery, 1100 W. Moana Lane; Reno
— Tuesday, Oct. 25, 7:40 a.m. to 3:20 p.m., Sierra Nevada Health Center, 3325 Research Way; Carson City
— Wednesday, Oct. 26, 7:40 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., St. Peter Canisius, 225 E. 5th Ave.; Sun Valley
— Thursday, Oct. 27, 7:40 a.m. to 3:20 p.m., Northern Nevada HOPES, 580 W. 5th St.; Reno
Mammography screenings are primarily for women age 40 and older; however, screenings are provided to those younger than 40 that have a screening referral from a provider. COVID precautions are in place.

NVHC’s mission is to provide access to quality healthcare services throughout Nevada. Screenings are provided to all women regardless of economic status. We accept most major insurance plans, Medicaid and Medicare and offer a sliding fee scale for those who are uninsured.
Nevada Health Centers (NVHC) operates the Mammovan, a mobile mammography van that provides convenient access to mammography services to women. The Mammovan began operations in 2000, and was initially made possible by a grant secured by former Congressman John Ensign and former First Lady of Nevada, Dema Guinn.
