Capital City and CTH 'Think Pink' for breast cancer awareness Tuesday at Red's Old 395 Grill
With October designated Breast Cancer Awareness Month, dozens joined Carson Tahoe Health for its 18th "Think Pink" breast cancer awareness event held Tuesday at Red's Old 395 Grill in Carson City, which hosts and sponsors the annual event.
The gathering brought cancer survivors, friends and families together for an evening of appetizers, prizes and community fellowship. One hundred percent of all proceeds collected Tuesday will go to benefit local breast cancer support efforts and education.
Like most people, breast cancer has probably affected you or someone in your life. With one in eight women developing breast cancer, don’t be fooled into thinking you aren’t at risk. This month, celebrate life by doing your part to ensure good health for years to come:
— Perform regular self-exams
— Get an annual mammogram
— Don’t forget your annual clinical breast exam
— A reminder that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
