October spooky season takes over the Carson City Wine Walk
On Saturday, Oct. 1, the Carson City Wine Walk was taken over by spooky patrons wandering downtown in their funky Halloween costumes.
Every month on the first Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., downtown Carson City hosts a wine walk where participants have a chance to discover new places in the capital city to fill their wine glasses.
This month, the wine walkers went all out in their themed costumes. Some wore costumes with fake blood and scary makeup, while others wore orange and black wholesome Halloween outfits.
Unfortunately, even during the beginning of the fall season, it was still toasty outside in the warm 75 degree weather.
Regardless, the locals and new wine walkers still enjoyed their time. A local, Brenda, took her newbie friends, Shiloh and Connie on this adventure through the local business wine spots to fill their glasses and socialize with new people.
One thing all the women recommend letting new friends and participants know is to bring a bag to hold all their extra goodies, so they don’t have their hands full on top of holding their wine glasses.
“I guess it’s good for the businesses though because we end up needing to buy a bag from one of them,” Shiloh said with a laugh.
The wine walk’s main goal is to bring notice to smaller, local Carson City businesses and give people a fun adventure of walking through downtown and enjoying some wines along the way.
For these women and the others who are new to the show, they had a blast on the first day of October, strolling through town on their wine crusade. All of them agreed that they enjoyed themselves at this Halloween-themed event.
