NHP identifies motorcycle rider in Saturday's fatal crash on SR-341 in Storey County
The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a 34-year-old Reno man who died in a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon in Storey County.
According to NHP, Edmond Jones died after being ejected from the motorcycle he was riding after it collided head on with an SUV. The crash was reported to NHP troopers at around 12:25 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019. It happened on State Route 341 and Storey County mile marker 7.
A preliminary NHP investigation shows that a 2009 Ducati motorcycle was traveling southbound on SR-341 near Storey County mile marker 7.
A white 2020 Kia Sorento SUV was traveling northbound approaching the same location. The Ducati motorcycle entered a curve and crossed into the northbound travel lane, striking the front of the Kia SUV, according to NHP.
The motorcycle driver, Edmond Jones, was ejected and later pronounced deceased at a local area hospital. State Route 341 was closed for an extended period of time for the investigation until all travel lanes were reopened at 2:18 p.m.
