Carson City sheriff's SET arrests pair for alleged cocaine possession, other offenses
Two were arrested Tuesday for drug charges following a search warrant at a Sneddon Way residence, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team deputy report.
Miguel Angel Aguilera-Angulo, 29, and Mirian Colin-Vera, 40 were arrested Tuesday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Aguilera-Angulo was also arrested for a warrant alleging trafficking marijuana.
Aguilera-Angulo was taken into custody in the area of College Parkway and I-580 at 6:10 a.m. Colin-Vera was booked at 8:35 a.m. According to the arrest reports, deputies with the sheriff's office Special Enforcement Team were assigned to assist Tri Net with a search warrant at a Sneddon Way residence.
Detectives advised that during the execution of the search warrant for Aguilera-Angulo, while searching a travel trailer in the back of the property, a plastic baggie with cocaine was found on a night stand. The officer tested the substance, which tested presumed positive for cocaine, the report states.
The female in the trailer, Colin-Vera, was removed during the search warrant process. A deputy took custody of the cocaine and booked it into evidence. The drug weighed 5 grams with packaging, the arrest report states.
The woman was booked for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,632.
Earlier, Angel Aguilera was arrested at 6:10 a.m. Tuesday in the area of College Parkway and I-580 for the felony warrant alleging trafficking of marijuana, and added later, suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (the cocaine), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the arrest report, Aguilera-Angulo was the one who had the felony search warrant conducted at the Sneddon Way address through Tri-Net as well as having a warrant for his arrest. Officers learned he also lived in the travel trailer located on the property and was arrested for suspicion of possession of the cocaine and packaging. Total bail amount listed: $13,632.
In other arrests:
— A 36-year-old Reno man was booked Tuesday into Carson City Jail for two misdemeanor warrants. One warrant alleges violation of bail conditions, and the other for petit theft. The warrants were issued on Sept. 1 and Sept. 3, 2020 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,250.
— A 35-year-old Dayton woman turned herself in Tuesday for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Bail: $3,000.
— A 42-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Tuesday for a misdemeanor warrant out of Virginia City Township Court, Storey County. Bail: $1,000.
— A 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday at a Highway 50 convenience store for suspicion of destruction of property, a gross misdemeanor. According to the arrest report, the man was extremely intoxicated and kicked out the windshield of his mother's vehicle. He was found and taken into custody. Bail: $2,500.
