Electric train of lights, pumpkin patch to light up fall season along the Virginia City Comstock
A spirited collection of themed steam train rides on the Virginia Truckee Railroad returns to the Virginia City Comstock this fall.
The Pumpkin Patch train will be powered by Steam Engine #29 and feature a stop at the Gold Hill Depot Pumpkin Patch. Passengers will board in Virginia City and be able to get off the train at Gold Hill and choose their favorite pumpkin with the assistance of our helpers.
Then it's back on board for the return trip to Virginia City. All the cars will be open-air, so dress warmly and bring your costume, if you want. These trains fill up fast, so reservations are strongly recommended.
The Pumpkin Patch train will run Oct. 15, 16, 21, 22 and 23 at 11:20 am, 1:20 pm and 3pm. For those who want a haunted Pumpkin Patch, try the Pumpkin Dusk train on Oct 15, 21, 22 at 5pm. Fares for both trains will be $24 for adults and $16 for children ages 5-12 and will include a pumpkin.
A Haunted Halloween Steam Train of Lights will be the highlight of your Halloween season. Imagine a huffing and puffing steam engine decorated with thousands of LED lights traveling through the dusky hills along a route that has been transformed into a Halloween fantasy land complete with dancing skeletons, wandering zombies and other spooky scenes that will send chills down your spine.
The Electric Haunted Train of Lights runs Saturday, Oct.29, Sunday, Oct. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 31 at 5pm, 6:30, and 8pm. Fares will be $22 for adults and $17 for kids. Wear your costume and be prepared to have a chilling good time! For reservations and more information go to www.virginiatruckee.com or call us at 775 847-0380.
