August gaming revenue soars at South Tahoe, decreases slightly in Carson City area
Casinos in Carson City, Gardnerville, Minden and all other areas of Douglas County except for South Shore Tahoe saw gaming revenue, also called "gaming win" at $11,466,518 for the month, down 1.19 percent from August 2021.
Meanwhile, casinos at Lake Tahoe's Stateline area saw their gaming generated revenue soar to $29,977,316 for the month, a 26.84 percent increase over August 2021 figures.
Some of increase may be a result of the weeklong shut down of casino operations in late August into early September due to the Caldor Fire. Highway 50 was also closed, making it difficult for travelers from northern California to get to South Shore Lake Tahoe via the highway route.
Statewide, Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $1,208,504,956 for the month of August 2022. This amounts to a 3.53 percent increase compared to August 2021, when licensees reported a gaming win of $1,167,318,557.
