Nevada conservation department employees donate to Wild Animal Infirmary for Nevada
The employees at the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in Carson City have two fundraisers annually for area non-profits. This year, our staff raised $1,800, and one of the nonprofit recipients is the Wild Animal Infirmary for Nevada, also known as WAIF.
WAIF is a non-profit organization run by a small group of specialized volunteers whose mission is to care for ill, injured and orphaned wildlife and is made possible through donations. When the birds and animals have recovered, they are returned to the wild.
On Tuesday, Suzette Feilen with WAIF was presented with a $600 donation raised by employees at NDCNR and gave an Owl Presentation in the lobby of the Richard H. Bryan Building in Carson City to raise awareness about their wildlife recovery efforts.
