Outdoor recreation to be discussed at Tuesday's Rotary Club of Carson City meeting
Outdoor recreation across Nevada is the topic of conversation at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting. Colin Robertson, the Administrator for the Nevada Department of Conservation and Resources’ Outdoor Recreation Division, will be the guest speaker.
The meeting, which takes place Tuesday, Sept. 21, in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom, begins at noon with an optional lunch. Guests are invited to attend.
As the department’s administrator, Robertson focuses on enhancing our state’s unique outdoor recreation opportunities, and promoting a healthy and sustainable outdoor recreation economy. “Outdoor recreation is an integral part of life in Nevada. My goal is to protect our wild places, while supporting a healthy recreation economy” he said. “I encourage people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to get outside and enjoy our state’s vast recreational splendor.”
Robertson is the first Administrator of the NDOR which was formed in January of 2020. In his role he also works to educate Nevada’s young people on the state’s outdoor recreational opportunities, engage underserved populations and attract new outdoor recreation related businesses to Nevada.
