Happening Today: The Duck Race is Back helping homeless pets with a grand prize $10,000 or a new car
The Duck Race is back this year with a new twist: a family-friendly festival to provide the community with a fun, free way to support the Nevada Humane Society while also getting to meet some adorable adoptable pets!
The grand prize winner will take home either $10,000 or a brand new 2021 Toyota Hatchback.
The Duck Race Festival will take place this Saturday, Sept. 18 from 4-9 p.m. at Bartley Ranch Regional Park. Admission to the festival is free.
Activities include games, prizes, limited-edition NHS shirts and stickers, vendors, a beer garden for adults, delicious food trucks, photo booths, and more!
There will also be a puppy adoption for those hoping to bring home a new family member.
At the end of the night, Duck Race winners will be announced followed by a movie and popcorn in the amphitheater.
For every duck purchased between now and the Duck Race Festival, Petco Love will donate an additional $5 directly to NHS to help shelter pets.
The goal this year is to sell 50,000 ducks and so far, they’ve sold 48,209! Due to COVID-19, this is the only fundraising event NHS is able to have this year.
There are numerous packages from $5 to $175.
As previous years, the grand prize will be a choice between $10,000 or a brand new 2021 Toyota CH-R Hatchback donated by Carson City Toyota.
Other prize packages include:
-The Dine Around Reno Restaurant Package, which includes gift cards to a number of restaurants;
-The Extreme Date Night Package which includes everything from a puzzle room to gun gift cards, painting classes to a wine tasting and more;
-The Pampered Pet Package, which includes dog training, doggy daycare, pet food for a year, gift baskets and more;
