Partnership Carson City leads Saturday's suicide prevention and awareness walk
Participants, including Partnership Carson City executive director Hannah McDonald (front), walk in the 13th Annual Walk in Memory-Walk for Hope, a suicide prevention and awareness event in Carson City held Saturday, Sept. 14.
“Suicide isn’t something we necessarily talk about, but once we see the entire community come together for the same cause, it shows that suicide affects everyone,” said Partnership Carson City’s Samantha Szoyka. “Suicide is a ripple effect — and to bring awareness to community members that there are resources and people out there who care, well, it’s a really powerful thing to witness.”
The “Walk in Memory – Walk for Hope” happened at 10 different communities across Nevada on Saturday.
