Carson City arrests: Smelly sewage underneath motorhome leads to drug arrest

A 41-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of drug possession and other offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

Adrian Jones was taken into custody at 7:57 p.m. for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and three misdemeanor offenses: possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a shopping cart and camping within the city limits.

According to the booking report, a deputy with the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team was dispatched to investigate a motorhome that was in a parking lot of a shopping center in the 200 block of Fairview Drive.

Deputies met with the man, observing the motorhome appeared abandoned with numerous personal items outside the rear of the motorhome. The officer also observed a grocery store shopping cart next to the motorhome. The nearest grocer y store was 2 miles away.

A deputy walked toward the driver side of the motorhome and was overwhelmed by the smell of raw sewage. The officer noticed a cooler under the motorhome septic pipe. The cooler was approximately half full of raw sewage coming from the motorhome. The suspect told a deputy he had been staying in the motorhome for the past few days.

A K9 conducted a "sniff" of the exterior of the vehicle and alerted positive for a controlled substance within the vehicle. A search warrant was applied for by the sheriff's office and granted by a Carson City judge to search the motorhome. During the search officers collected a cabinet syringe that tested positive for methamphetamine, 3 used hypodermic needles, mail with the man's name on it and a cell phone located on the suspect's person. Bail: $4,181.

In other arrests:
— A 52-year-old Carson City woman, Christie Leann Torvik, was arrested Thursday for a felony warrant alleging burglary of a motor vehicle, and a misdemeanor petit larceny warrant. Bail: $2,500.

— A 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sept. 7 for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, driving without a license in possession and failure to yield at a yield sign. Bail: $1,321.

— 43-year-old South Lake Tahoe woman, Anuraga Arinoki, was arrested Sept. 6 for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, a felony and found misdemeanor offenses: possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a valid license, failure to maintain a lane and speeding.

— A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sept. 6 for suspicion of gross misdemeanor possession of a dangerous weapon. According not the booking report, deputies responded to a residence regarding a domestic argument. During the investigation, a deputy observed the man hide brass knuckles, considered a dangerous weapon, behind a garbage can. Bail: $2,500.

— A 26-year-old Carson City man, Gerardo Montes-Gallegos, was arrested Sept. 5 for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued out of Lyon County. Bail: $2,637.

— A 47-year-old man was arrested Sept. 4 for suspicion of felony child abuse/neglect, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, gross misdemeanor concealing evidence, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor violation of bail conditions.

Michael Anthony Orta was taken into custody at a Corbett Street residence after Carson City Sheriff's Office SET deputies conducted a welfare check on a child living at the residence.

During the investigation, officers learned a child was left at the residence by a person who was earlier arrested for alleged drug possession. Deputies went to the residence where the child was at, knocked and rang the doorbell, where a woman opened the door with the child. A man, who didn't live in the residence, was located inside and had allegedly manipulated a vent on the ground in the bathroom, according to the arrest report.

A search warrant was applied and received, where officers located a syringe with suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia on a kitchen counter, within reach of a child. In the bathroom, inside the vent, was a methamphetamine pipe and a tan and orange bag that contained a ziplock with a large shard of suspected methamphetamine. Also located in a bedroom, under a bed, was a lunch bag with a loaded syringe, the report states. Bail: $20,000.

Erin Zellner was reported missing on October 16 2018. Erin Zellner was last seen on October 12 2018 leaving her children with a family member in Carson City. Erin was described as a danger to herself by family members.

Erin is described as 5’06”, 195 pounds with Blonde or Brown hair and blue eyes.

—A 57-year-old transient man was arrested in the parking lot of a Carson City grocery store early Friday morning on the charge of an ex-felon failing to register.

Deputies were called to the grocery store on reports of an intoxicated male harassing customers. When the man was asked to leave by employees, the man took a shopping cart for personal use and attempted to leave the property with the cart.
