Central Lyon Fire, Carson City respond to brush fire in Dayton area near D-Hill
UPDATE 4:25PM: Carson City Fire Department has been relieved from mutual aid and is returning to quarters, according to a Central Lyon Fire battalion chief. The fire is on BLM land.

Central Lyon Fire responded Tuesday afternoon to the area of D-hill in Dayton for a brush fire. The fire was reported at around 3:30 p.m.
Carson City Fire Department has been called for mutual assistance. Carson City is sending a brush engine to the fire.
The exact location is unknown at this time, but Central Lyon reported the fire was possibly behind D-Hill. It is unknown at this time if the fire is threatening structures. There have been reports of lightning strikes in the area.
The staging area for firefighting personnel is the Dayton Rodeo grounds off of Dayton Valley Road, according to dispatch.
People should avoid the area and stay clear of fire engines responding to the fire.

Elsewhere, firefighters are also responding Tuesday afternoon to a brush fire in the Pine Nut Mountain range approximately 3 to 5 miles east of Johnson Lane.
According to the Fire and Ice newsgroup, multiple lightning strikes recorded in the area over the past 30-45 minutes. Multiple units enroute including federal resources.
As of 3:55 p.m. the fire was estimated to be 2-3 acres in light brush, slow to moderate rate of spread. A NDF helicopter is on scene with first arriving ground resources.
