At around 4:35 p.m. the fire department was notified by Carson City dispatch of multiple callers reporting smoke in the area.
The Carson City Fire Department has encrypted fire emergency public channels so the public is unable to hear current fire emergency situations via the public airwaves.
At this time, we don't have information about structures threatened and potential evacuations. We've reached out to the Carson City Fire Department to find out the status of the fire.
