Carson City woman arrested for threatening to burn down trees, waving knife at deputies
A 39-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the area of Dori Way Thursday evening after allegedly threatening to cut up or burn down a woman’s tree and swinging a metal pipe in the air.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to a residence on reports of a woman with a “torch like item” in her hand who was stating she was going to “burn down her trees,” according to the arrest report.
When deputies arrived, they met with the woman who was yelling at the resident from across the street, and was carrying a metal pole wooden stick and a brass fitting from a water hose in her hands.
Deputies told the woman to drop the items and have a seat. After several attempts, the woman finally dropped the items and “was unable to give (deputies) a straight answer” as to what she was doing in the area.
Throughout the interview, the woman continued to scream and yell at the resident.
The resident told deputies the woman had been walking around the neighborhood screaming and yelling when the resident made contact with her. At that point, the resident said, the woman started swinging the pipe and stain she was going to burn her tree down.
The resident stated at no time did the woman “attempt to stick her,” but was extremely verbal to her. The resident stated she simply wanted the woman trespassed from the area.
Deputies told the woman to move along out of the area and not to return. It took “several attempts” to get the woman to start to move out of the area
However, as she started moving northbound on Dori, she stopped and produced knife from her person and began screaming and yelling again while waving the knife in the direction of the deputies.
Deputies stated they were unable to see where the knife had come from, and during their contact with the woman, they never saw a knife on her person.
At some point while deputies were taking her into custody, damage occurred at one of the resident’s fences, and the home owner stated he wanted to press charges for the damages.
The woman was booked on drawing a deadly weapon in a threatening manner, obstructing or interfering with an officer, and destruction of private property.
