Pair arrested in drug endangered child investigation by state police, Carson City deputies and Tri-NET
Two people were arrested as the result of a drug-endangered child investigation conducted by the Nevada State Police, Tri-NET Narcotic Task Force, with the assistance of the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.
On August 25, 2023, Tyler Amirr and Sabrina Welch were contacted during a traffic stop along with two young juveniles. Amirr was arrested for an active misdemeanor warrant. During the course of the traffic stop, illegal drugs (methamphetamine and Fentanyl) and drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle and around items used by the juveniles.
Tri-NET detectives were able to obtain a search warrant for their residence. Inside the residence detectives located multiple items of drug paraphernalia and illegal drugs (Methamphetamine and Fentanyl), some of which were within reach of the juveniles who lived there.
Amirr and Welch were arrested for felony child abuse/neglect with a bail set at $40,000, possession of a controlled substance with a bail set at $2,500, and possession of drug paraphernalia with a bail set at $1,000.
Tri-NET Narcotic Task Force is comprised of members of the Nevada State Police, Investigation Division, Carson City Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and the Nevada Counterdrug Program.
