The Mono County Sheriff's Office issued an evacuation order Monday evening for Coleville and Walker due to the Slink Fire and has closed Highway 395 from Topaz Lane to Eastside Lane south of Topaz Lake.
The evacuation order is asking residents to leave the area as it is lawfully closed to the public, according to an announcement from the Mono County Sheriff's Office Facebook page. Evacuations are being completed to Cunningham Lane.
Those evacuated are advised to head north to Topaz Lodge, southern parking lot. Residents were urged to stay in their cars and await further instructions, due to Covid concerns. Someone from the Mono County Health Department will complete a screening and provide further instructions for shelter placement.
