Carson City Library's interim director voted to become new director beginning Oct. 1
On Thursday, the Carson City Library Board of Trustees voted to offer the position of Library Director to Joy Holt, who has been working as interim director since the prior director, Tod Colegrove, put in his resignation.
Prior to the interim, Holt worked as the Department Business Manager as well as Deputy Director for the library.
Holt, who grew up in Winnemucca and is a fifth-generation Nevadan, spoke to trustees during her interview process about her love of libraries, of which she has been working in since the 8th grade.
In addition to her experience in libraries, Holt also has a background in law and corporate accounting, and received a Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law.
Trustees voted unanimously to offer Holt the job following her interviews, and negotiations on salary will begin soon, with a start date of Oct. 1.
The salary range for the directorship ranges from $110,000 to $175,000, according to staff.
