July unemployment rate in Carson City, Reno unchanged from June, slight dip in Vegas
The July 2021 economic report, showed Nevada’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 7.7 percent in July 2021 which decreased by 0.1 percent from June 2021 and was down nearly 9 percentage points from July of 2020. Seasonally adjusted estimates account for regularly seen economic patterns, with the following estimates not seasonally adjusted.
In the three Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA), the unemployment rates were 9.4 percent in the Las Vegas area, 4.9 percent in Reno, and 5.3 percent in the Carson area in July 2021, unchanged from June.
The Carson City MSA’s unemployment rate was down from 9.5 percent in July 2020, non-seasonally adjusted. The number of unemployed individuals decreased by 16 since June 2021 for a current level of 1,415 people, which is 1,035 less unemployed people than July 2020.
The labor force in Carson City is currently 26,879 people, which is 189 less people than June 2021, and is up 1,104 people since July 2020, according to the report.
Among Nevada counties the lowest unemployment rate in July was in Eureka County at 3.2 percent, with Clark County having the highest rate at 9.4 percent. For the July unemployment rates in Nevada's other counties go here.
