Carson City School District to discuss testing procedures, bullying policies and more tonight
The next Carson City School District School Board meeting will take place tonight, Tuesday Aug. 9 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Robert ‘Bob’ Crowell Board Room within the Carson City Community Center.
Items up for discussion at the school board include test results, testing procedures, a bullying policy review, bill draft request discussions and more.
Among the agenda items:
— Chartwells Dining Director John Worring will be introduced, who will provide a brief update on Chartwells Food Service and the CCSD Nutrition Service Program.
— A Civics Test Results presentation will be held for the CCSD Class of 2022.
— An adoption of the CCSD Test Procedures and Security Plan for the 2022-2023 school year will be discussed and possibly acted upon, as required by Nevada statutes.
— An annual review of CCSD Policy and Regulation 543 Safe and Respectful Learning Environmental Free from Bullying or Cyber-Bullying will be held, for which no new changes are proposed. An outline of Safe Voice, the anonymous reporting system used to report threats to the safety and well-being of students, will be included per Nevada statutes.
— A discussion and possible action will be held to approve a 2023 Legislative Session Bill Draft Request (BDR) from the CCSD, to allow “specific flexibilities and reduce workload in state reporting”, as allowed by Nevada statutes.
