Carson City arrests: Two booked after waitress slapped in face for refusing service
Two women were arrested Sunday for suspicion of battery and obstruction after a waitress at a restaurant inside a south Carson Street casino was slapped in the face, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Vanessa Dolores Macias, 29, of Alto, Calif., and a 35-year-old Carson City woman, were arrested at 8:57 a.m. following an investigation into the incident which led to the arrests for misdemeanor battery and obstruction. Macias was also booked for suspicion possession of a controlled substance, a felony.
According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched at 8:19 a.m. to the casino in the 5600 block of South Carson Street. Dispatch was advises four subjects were involved in a fight in which a female hit a restaurant employee. On scene deputies learned from an employee that one of the females in the group hit a waitress in the face and was last seen running eastbound.
Deputies spoke with the victim who said four people walked into the restaurant and were seated. They ordered drinks, finished them and requested more but with more alcohol. Due to them being intoxicated and causing a disturbance with other people in the restaurant, the waitress told them she was refusing service.
The four subjects became verbal and upset and a plate of food was thrown from the table. The four began to leave but one of the female suspects returned, continued to be confrontational and slapped the waitress on the right side of her face, according to the arrest report.
The deputy could see a slight red mark on the side of the victim's cheek. A deputy looking for the suspects had two detained after a foot chase. Investigating deputies spoke with the suspects. Macias asked for paramedics due to small lacerations to the hands she received while jumping a fence. When the fire department arrived to assist her, she refused medical treatment, the report states.
Macias was read her Miranda warning and said she understood and wanted to speak. She said she and the other subjects went to get some breakfast but were refused service. She said she called the waitress a bitch and admitted to getting into a fight with the waitress, the arrest report states. She was arrested.
During the intake at jail, a small clear baggie with a white substance was found in her property. She admitted the baggie was used for cocaine. An additional charge was added, possession of a controlled substance. A crime lab has been requested to test the substance inside the baggie.
The 35-year-old Carson City woman was also arrested. She was reportedly seen by a witness pulling the victim's hair and fighting. She was booked for suspicion of battery and obstructing, both misdemeanor offenses. Bail for the 35-year-old woman: $1,549; bail for Macias, $4,049.
In other arrests:
— A 26-year-old man, Malachi Brickett, was arrested August 12, at Lake Tahoe's Chimney Beach, within Carson City's jurisdiction, for suspicion of felony open and gross lewdness. According to the booking report, Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies were contacted by Washoe County Sheriff's Office regarding a man they had detained after having been pointed out by several female witnesses who said the man reportedly was masturbating at the beach and for exposing himself.
According to the booking report, there was a large group of people at the beach, including multiple juveniles ranging from age 2-13. The suspect was read his Miranda warning and agreed to speak. He admitted to being at the beach but denied masturbating or exposing himself. Bail: $5,000.
— A 30-year-old Grass Valley woman, Kaitlynn Turner, was arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony possession a controlled substance (methamphetamine), gross misdemeanor possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, misdemeanor drug paraphernalia and no proof of insurance. Bail: $4,511.
— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant and possession of a dangerous weapon (brass knuckles), a gross misdemeanor offense. Bail: $3,840.
— A 37-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday for suspicion of DUI. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing it drift over the yellow line while driving for approximately 25 to 35 yards, before correcting back into the travel lane. The driver drifted over the yellow line for a second time for around 20 yards.
The driver pulled over in the 2300 block of South Carson Street. The deputy observed the driver had red watery eyes, and slurred speech. The driver agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. He provided a preliminary breath test of .249 and was arrested. He agreed to a voluntary blood draw. Bail: $1,137.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man, Gunther Immers, was arrested Saturday for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, 3 counts possession of paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic device. Bail: $4,774.
— A 33-year-old woman was arrested Saturday for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. According to the booking report, deputies were called to the 1000 block of East Fifth for a report of a man yelling at a woman.
Deputies arrived on scene and located the male and female subjects. The man stated in an interview that the woman slapped him in the face during an argument. The woman stated the man was really close to her face, yelling at her when she slapped him. Bail: $3,137.
