Moxy Ruckus to Perform During the Capital City Brewfest in Carson City

McFadden Plaza will be rocking during the Capital City Brewfest. Moxy Ruckus will bring their unique blend of music styles to the stage on Saturday, August 28th.

The band’s blend of eclectic sounds with danceable beats will have everyone on their feet in no time.

Lead singer Monique De Haviland provides powerful and soulful lead vocals, as well as playing rhythm guitar, keyboards and flute. She said the band is looking forward to its performance at the Brewfest.

“We are so excited to perform this year,” De Haviland said. “Combining music and beer is a great way to get the community back together, making human connections is so important, especially now. It’s great for the vendors as well, I’m sure they are looking forward to seeing so many customers face to face.”

The five-piece band combines, rock, pop, blues and dance tunes.

“We are looking forward to performing on such a nice stage with so many great people around,” she said. “We love working with Rotary and support all of the programs and projects the club champions.”

Senior Santa Visits Team 2018

Friends to All volunteers went out in the cold on Saturday, Dec. 8 visiting more than 150 senior citizens in Carson City bringing cheer and gifts.

The group, a nonprofit organization, has been providing visits to seniors in the community since 1999. More than 45 volunteers dressed as Santa and Helpers covered the City bringing their message "Touching Hearts with a Visit."

Home Ranch for the Holidays, a celebration of the season that includes a vintage toy exhibit, music and treats, returns to Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 15-16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
